Inside Antony Dhas and Harshia’s Modern Home by D’LIFE Interiors, Nagercoil

This residence of Tamil Nadu cricket player Antony Dhas and Harshia was envisioned to have a modern look. The clients wanted a home with a clean, modern aesthetic. The design team at D’LIFE Interiors Nagercoil crafted a home that tells a story of patterns, colours, and textures. From the moment you enter the space, you see a contemporary language. “My husband and I went to visit the showroom at Rajas Mall in Nagercoil. At first, we went with the mindset that we could only do the kitchen. Then, when we saw their work, we decided that we could give the whole house to them. When we compared the finishing of all the interiors, it was premium. The finishing was good,” says Harshia.

The main door opens into the living room, where a TV unit, upholstered seating, and veneered columns are seen. If you look closely at the living space, you will observe a wooden swing. The TV wall features a combination of display niches, panel detailing and layers. Instead of visual heaviness, the design introduces rhythm and breaks monotony.

The ceiling treatments also play a significant role. It provides depth while maintaining a clean modern appearance. The lighting is focused on evenly distributing warmth while highlighting architectural details.

The dining room gets a neat, unfussy design and does not feel constrained.

The master bedroom features a dramatic headboard that rises to the ceiling. This is one of the strongest visual elements in the project. Rather than using panelling, we introduced vertical patterns to create movement and depth. The use of warm beige and wooden finishes ensures the room remains soothing for years to come.

The kids’ bedroom nods to their love for study and fun. Instead of overcrowding the room with decor elements, the family wanted to focus on spaciousness and proportions. For the kids’ room design, we have used a controlled colour palette. It demonstrates how luxury comes from restraint and minimalism rather than excess.

The kitchen cabinetry of this home’s interior in Nagercoil is finished in a design scheme that demonstrates functionality and visual appeal. The layout is compact, efficient and makes excellent use of wall space. The cabinets are designed to maximise organisation. The grey upper cabinets are see-through, while the bottom cabinets have warm accents. The light countertops create a contemporary atmosphere. The combination maintains the sophistication expected to follow the design of the rest of the space. We have used subtle decorative elements under the open display shelving. Since the kitchen uses sleek and minimal finishes, we were able to pull off a warm environment.

“Finally, the result came out better than we expected. The children are very happy. I asked the D’LIFE team to make all the cabinets to my height. In my old kitchen, I usually had to bend a little. I developed back pain due to it. Now, it is perfect for my height,” says Harshia.

The interiors of this home in Nagercoil avoid trend-driven combinations and focus on practicality. We have also designed it with wooden finishes that age gracefully.
